Escher Butterflies Tessellation by DracoLoricatus Escher Butterflies Tessellation by DracoLoricatus
Finally made another tessellation. This one was also modified from a design by M.C. Escher. The hard part was figuring out a way for them to lock together, since the original design didn't work really.

These were laser-cut out of 1/8" thick Baltic Birch plywood. Working at a laser-cutting shop is awesome.

I really want to take a sheet of wood and paint it Jackson Pollock-style with a bunch of vibrant colors and then cut it into these butterflies. Each one would be different, and I think it would be really fun to do.

If you want some, you can buy some of these here: [link]

Hi. I'm the co-founder of deviantart's m-c-escher-style club. I'd like to show your picture above in the "real materials" section of my website, tessellations dot org with a description and links back to your gallery here and to the place you're selling them (etsy dot com ?)
Let me know if that'd be OK.

Wow... nice price on Etsy. Would you consider doing similar lasercut on-commission for other peoples' tessellation patterns?
