Finally made another tessellation. This one was also modified from a design by M.C. Escher. The hard part was figuring out a way for them to lock together, since the original design didn't work really.
These were laser-cut out of 1/8" thick Baltic Birch plywood. Working at a laser-cutting shop is awesome.
I really want to take a sheet of wood and paint it Jackson Pollock-style with a bunch of vibrant colors and then cut it into these butterflies. Each one would be different, and I think it would be really fun to do.
