I've had a couple people ask questions, so here's a shot of the backs of my scale bracelets.
It's the same weave used for a sheet of scales: Japanese 4-in-1, hung diagonally. I just worked out a way of putting a nice edge on it. It was only recently pointed out to me that the way I finish the edge is different from the way it's shown on The Ring Lord's website (the manufacturer of the scales). I tried their way, and it turns out that this way keeps the scales in line better, though it does pull the scales inwards more (which for me is neither here nor there). Basically, their way makes a chain where all the scales are hanging nicely in line with the line of the chain, but it has a tendency to fold into weird kinks; my way pulls the outer scales so they tilt inwards a bit, but keeps the chain really stable.
Anyway, I don't really think I've seen other people making scale chains quite like this, so here you go.
Oh, also you get to see how I finish the chain on the clasp end. that took a reasonable amount of fiddling around and working.
At left is 3-wide, at right is 2-wide.
